The CEDETEC building is the center for technological development. It includes the collaboration with several enterprises and has the sponsorship or important companies through the State of Mexico area, who have worked with us in the development of state of the art laboratories in areas such as engineering, music production, biotechnology.
Our Classrooms are as flexible as our learning model. Through our " Tec21" learning-teaching strategy we encourage that students explore beyond traditional methodologies and immerse in environments that promote creativity and foster leadership.
Our Library building includes different services related to the access to information. * Learning Commons: - Areas for studying, working and multitasking. - Collaborative Spaces. - Individual study areas - Coffee shop - Resting spaces - Computers for internet access and database search. - And yes... we still have books to loan!
Our sports facilities include:
- Swimming pool
- American/Soccer football stadium
- Tennis courts
- Basketball and Volleyball courts.
- Gym
- Climbing wall
- Theater
- Art rooms
- Musical instruments to use and practice (like pianos and guitars).
- Dancing halls
- Singing rooms
Beyond the classroom, we also provide students with an environment that enhances learning and enjoying. Our State of Mexico Campus is characteristic for its environment-friendly atmosphere with lots of gardens and sustainable technologies. We offer several "cafeteria" (lunch) services including campus sites for brands such as Starbucks or Subway. Our Student Center building combines offices for services like International Programs, Scholarships and Student Affairs with art classrooms and a food court area.
When selecting our campus for your semester-year abroad, consider these tips.

Why Tec CEM?
Location, Location, Location
Location, Location, Location The State of Mexico is located in the center of the country, this means that we have direct communication with most of the country, through several different means of transportation. Some popular destinations that are just a bus drive away: Cuernavaca, Puebla, Querétaro, Veracruz, Acapulco, San Miguel de Allende and Hidalgo. If you want to take an airplane the longest flight from Mexico City to anywhere in Mexico is 4 and a half hours, which puts at your fingertips destinations ranging from ancient ruins, to beaches, international resorts, desserts, colonial towns, and ecotourism. Our campus, in particular, is located at a 20 min distance from Mexico City center. Though it is quite close to the city, it belongs to the "Metropolitan area", which is like the extended suburbs. This implies having the availability of all the resources a large city provides (like shops and entertainment and popular zones like Condesa or Reforma), without the nuisances (like traffic jams, noise, etc). Most of the housing options we share with our students are at a walking distance from the campus (which saves a lot of resources on transportation!). Beyond that, our campus offers a free student transportation service (selected schedules and times). International students may use this service to go from the campus to popular sight-seeing attractions like Chapultepec (the park and the castle), Plaza Satélite, Mundo E, The National Archeology and History Museum and Reforma (including the "Angel de la Independencia").
A strong relationship with the industry
The best facilities in the area
Lots of entertainment and trips
Lots of things to do at the State of Mexico
Top of the line laboratories
A faculty full of researchers and/or working in their field
The best student environment
A "family" far away from home
TIPS The "Tecnológico de Monterrey" system has more than 30 campus all around Mexico. Sometimes students have heard of other campus and find it difficult to know which one they should select when making their selection process, buying airplane tickets, etc. Here we offer some "tips" that may help to avoid any mix-up
- When selecting our campus look for "Estado de México" or "CEM".
- A common confusion is selecting Mexico City campus. Keep in mind that although we are located in the same city each campus offers different programs/courses and services. The distance between campus may seem small but in reality, we are located at the 2 poles from one of the biggest cities in the world.
- Look only for housing options among the recommended by the campus you select. Avoid looking for properties around "Mexico city", the location and distance to the campus may be farther or harder to get to from your place..
- When buying airplane tickets be careful not to select "Monterrey" (unless that is the campus you selected), although the name of our university includes the name of the city where our institution was founded, most campuses are located outside Monterrey City.
- At the State of Mexico Campus, we have one of the largest programs in terms of offer and variety. But the area we are located in has a lot of industrial development so it helps us to specialize and stand-out in areas such as: management (business school), manufacture (industrial engineering), design (architecture or civil engineering), research and development (mechanical engineering, automotive design, mechatronics, electronics, computer systems) and entrepreneurship.
Mexico State Campus Located in the northern part of the Metropolitan area of Mexico City. Our students get to live closer to the major attractions provided by the vibrant city life. At the same time, our campus is surrounded by an environment that invites rest, reflection, nature, and health.
