My opinion: Modra lasta is a magazine which contains a lot of interesting articles appropriate to our age. It is a fault that we can not find Modra lasta on the Internet.

The Modra lasta magazine has been in circulation since 1954. This year it is 65 years old. This is a magazine which many generations read growing up.

Sixty-five years with us

It is published monthly and it's intended for students from grades 5 through 8, and is issued by Školska knjiga, a well-known Croatian textbook publisher.

I heard that in the pre-Internet era a big number of students was buying Modra lasta magazine. Today it's different. In my school, one copy arrives to the school library, and in the whole school (in the grades 5 to 8 there are 157 students) only one student buys Modra lasta.

New conception

I've browsed through Modra lasta only a few times in the library between lessons. For the first time, I've read it more thoroughly in order to make this presentation. My impressions are good. I checked out the issues from this school year and several of them from last year. I've noticed a significant difference between last year's issue and this year's issue and it is probably because of the new editor Neven Kepeski. Previously, there was more content on the celebrities, and now the magazine is more focused on students and their achievements. There are a lot of interesting articles about books, movies, new games, and those with the help of which we can broaden our knowledge.

Comics and posters

It should be noted that the comic covers up 16 pages. In October's issu it was dedicated to the famous Croatian writer Ivana Brlić-Mažuranić. Modra lasta magazine was always known for are posters. In October's issue I noticed posters of a cute animal koala and the city of Pula.

The best text

In the most recent January issue, the article I find the most interesting is "Winter also has a style". In this article there were many useful tips on dressing up in the winter.

My proposal

In my opinion, there should be more content on the topic of building self-confidence among teenagers.
