A sky full of stars

Before storytelling

Linda hanged a blue sheet near by the carpet, behind the carper there were some little LED lights in order to represent a sky full of stars. There were also some cardboard stars on the sheet. This strategy created the atmosphere. Linda also used some flashcards to introduce the main character of the story, Oliver and his rocket.

Linda involved children in an active listening activity. She handed out some flashcards fixed on wooden sticks to children and she asked them to rise up their flashcards when they see the same object or the same character in the book. She also asked children to move and mime some actions while they were listening to the story

After the storytelling session, Linda involved children in a crafting activity: they made skies full of stars using blue cardboards, stamps, sequins, glitters and crayons.
