Steps of the lesson.

1.-Complete second degree equations. In general, the equations of the second degree are those where x appears elevated to 2 in some of its terms. They can be complete or incomplete second degree equations, depending on whether they have all their terms or not. Here I am going to focus on explaining the complete second degree equations.

2.-What are the complete second-degree equations. The complete second-degree equations or quadratic equations are those that are represented as follows:

Where a, b and c are the constants of the equation: a is the number that always goes before x squared. b is the number that always goes before the x. c is the number That is, the complete second-degree equations are those that have a term with x raised to 2, term with x raised to 1 (or simply x). If any of these terms were missing, we would be talking about incomplete second-degree equations, which are resolved with a different procedure. In the first lesson of the second-grade equation course, I discuss in more detail how to recognize a second-degree equation Being equations of the second degree, they have 2 solutions. Remember that the degree of an equation is equal to the number of solutions.

3.-How to solve complete second-degree equations. Identification of constants in the second degree equation. The first step to solving complete second-degree equations is to identify the constants correctly. As we said before, the constants are the numbers that go before x squared, x and the term that does not have x. Let's see it in an example:

En este caso, delante de x al cuadrado, no hay nada, por tanto a = 1. Delante de x hay un 5, por lo que b=5. Y el término que no lleva x es un 4, por lo que c=4. Recuerda que cuando no hay nada delante de las incógnitas, es porque están multiplicadas por 1, o en otras palabras, equivale a que haya un 1 delante. En el curso de cómo resolver ecuaciones de segundo grado, se explica paso a paso cómo hacerlo para que no te equivoques.

YOU WILL LEARN THE GENERAL FORMULA.
