2º ESO-ELECTRICITY

"Something very strange happened in the Summer of 2018, the greenhouse effect and lack of water made us to consume more energy than ever. Suddenly, it began to rain, it was a miracle! But the rain never stopped, and it was acid rain"

Only the knowledge of electricity would save your life

Choose where you want to go. Remember, you are alone and need to obtain some electricity to survive.

1. Surviving

Everything around you seems to be dead. Try to go to a city, You need water and food! And to achieve some knowledge

This is you, you need urgently a shower! You have 0 EXP points and 10 HEALTH points. To see your points: https://bit.ly/2ENm3I3

You see a church, if you want to spend the night there, click the following link: Night at the church

ELECTRIC-CITY

The OHM'S house

5.1 OHM's law

Be water my friend

Look this analogy, it could be very useful to you!. Water as an analogy of electric circuits You have it also in the EDPUZZLE of your class.

You found some bread (4 HEALTH POINTS and 2 exp points). CONTENT: Calculation of circuits (EXAM) PRACTICE: https://www.wisc-online.com/learn/career-clusters/stem/dce11904/ohms-law-practice-problems-1 - What is the intensity of the current if 2C pass during 15 minutes? Express it in Amperes and Miliamperes. - Calculate the intensity of a bulb under a differential potential of 220V and if it has a resistance of 440 Ohms - A fan has a resistance of 500 ohms and it is connected to a plug of 220V, What is the current?

OBJECT: You found a torch behind the piano. CONTENT: Electrical magnitudes(EXAM) TASKS: Check this link http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/gcsebitesize/science/edexcel_pre_2011/electricityintheory/voltagecurrentresistancerev1.shtml NOTEBOOK: Answer these questions: - Which alternatives name has the differential potential? -What instrument do you use to measure the differential potential between two points of a circuit? -What is an amperimeter? How do you place it in a circuit? Show them to your teacher to obtain the torch and 5 EXP points

OBJECT You found some wires. CONTENTS (EXAM): CONDUCTIVITY: GASSES: They are conducting materials only when they are ionized. LIQUIDS: They are conducting materials only when they have a substance capable of giving ions, for example a salt, an acid or a base. SOLIDS: All metals and some non metals (Carbon graphite). It depends on the internal structure of the matter. Materials are classificated within three types: CONDUCTING: allow electrical current to flow. They must have free electrons (for example in all metals). SEMI-CONDUCTING: allow electrical current to flow only in some circunstances, they allow the current just in one way and never in low temperatures, for example Germanium, Silicium. INSULATING: Also called dielectric materials, they do not allow electrical current to flow (For this reason, cables are covered in plastic). That is becuase their electrons are fixed to the atoms. Examples: Plastics, glass, wood, rubber. TASKS: NOTEBOOK Read the intro points 0.3 and do activities 5 and 6 -Write in your notebook a table with conducting and isolating materials (iron, wood, copper, water with salt, pure water, plastic, silver, paper, graphit, lemon juice) - Why do we use metals for doing wires? Your teacher will give you 5 EXP points and the wires simbol.

The car Is not working, so you have to fix it: Read this information: http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/gcsebitesize/design/electronics/componentsrev1.shtml Notebook: What is a LED? Draw its symbol. What is a DIODE? Draw its symbol What is a RESISTOR? Draw its symbol What is an AND gate? Draw its symbol What is an OR gate? Draw its symbol What is an NOT gate? Draw its symbol Copy and fill the following table: A B A AND B A OR B NOT A NOT B 0 0 0 1 1 0 1 1 Come on! you are almost there! Puedes comprobar el resultado aquí. https://logic.ly/demo/ You obtained 9 HEALTH points and 2 EXP points.
