Awareness rising on the importance of a healthy lifestyle was a central element in most of the health programmes.
Through our funding, 40 000 Roma in 90 marginalised communities in Bulgaria and Romania experienced reduced inequalities and increased awareness about their health issues, rights and services.
In addition, the initiatives engaged over 300 doctors, nurses and health care specialists. This has contributed to improved health services, increased health literacy and reduced mutual mistrust between doctors and Roma patients.
