In Kensington Gardens, at the end of Hyde Park, you can find the statue of Peter Pan.

St. Paul’s Cathedral is the biggest church in London. It is the mother Anglican Church of the British Commonwealth, the largest religious building of the City and the seat of the Bishop of London. It was built in the 17th century after the Great Fire of London. It is the place in which the most important events of the Kingdom are celebrated.

This is the Big Ben

Westminster Abbey is near the Houses of Parliament. This is the oldest and most famous church in London. The kings and queens of England are crowned here. Many famous British people have their tombs in Westminster Abbey: poets, politicians and war heroes are commemorated by different monuments. There is also an area called Poet’s Corner where many famous poets and writers are buried.

Westminster is the heart of political and royal London. In this area you can see the Houses of Parliament, where the members of parliament sit. Next to this building you can see the clock tower. Inside the clock tower there is a famous bell, called Big Ben (Big Ben isn’t the name of clock on the tower, but just the bell inside it)

Tower of London, a historic tower in the centre of London, very near Tower Bridge. It is not just one tower – there are 22 towers. William the Conqueror built the first tower in about 1078 by the River Thames. It has been a royal palace, a fortress, a prison, and a zoo! Many prisoners were executed in this tower. Now we can visit the building and see the Crown Jewels. They are in the original tower called the “White Tower”. The guards in traditional red and blue uniforms are called the “Beefeaters”. They are the guardians of the Tower and also tour guides around it. There are also six big ravens. Ravens are big, black birds. Their presence is traditionally believed to protect the Crown and the tower; a superstition holds that "if the Tower of London ravens are lost or fly away, the Crown will fall and Britain with it". The six ravens in the Tower of London have got names.

Madame Tussaud’s. This is a very special museum: here you can find wax statues of famous people like George Clooney, David Beckham, Picasso, Napoleon, and so on.

The British Museum is really big! Don’t get lost! Follow me! Here you can find the largest collections of historic objects from all over the world: Egypt, Athens, Medieval Europe, Mexico, and so on. Some impressive treasures include Egyptian collections of mummified skeletons found in the pyramids, Greek sculptures from the Parthenon in Athens, and Roman artefacts. It is also possible to see and visit the rich collection of old coins and medals from many countries. The modern entrance to the building is also very beautiful.

Tower Bridge. The bridge opens in the centre so that tall ships can pass and cruise in the river Thames. It is the masterpiece of Victorian engineering and a magnificent example of Gothic architecture. Together with The Big Ben, it is the symbol of the British capital. People can enjoy spectacular panoramic views from its glass-covered walkways and tour the Victorian engine rooms, where the original steam engines are. Tower Bridge is only one of the many bridges crossing the river Thames. Each of London’s bridge has its own architectural style and its own characteristics. In London we can also admire: London Bridge .

That is Buckingham Palace, over there! It’s very big. There are 600 rooms, a swimming pool, a cinema and a post office! There is a special flag on top of the roof: it’s the royal standard; that means that the Queen is at home. When the Queen is not at home, you can see the British flag, called the Union Jack. Buckingham Palace isn’t only the official home of the British Monarch in London. It is also a famous tourist attraction because of the Queen’s Royal guards. Every morning at 11.30 people all over the world come to see the Changing of the Guards. The guards protect the Queen day and night. They wear red uniforms and black bearskins.

St. James is full of many different birds and wild animals: ducks, hares, rabbits, squirrels, foxes, and pelicans. People also love walking and jogging through St James Park or just relaxing and playing.

London parks are beautiful and the one I really like is Hyde Park. Here people love swimming, fishing and going out in boats on the Serpentine, the river in Hyde Park. You can also have fun at the Speakers’ Corner. This is where you can go and talk about anything you like and people come and listen to you. All the world’s problems are discussed here. Speakers must stand at least 30 cm above the ground, otherwise they can be arrested by the police; that’s why they often stand on a wooden box. There are lots of people at the Speakers’ Corner on Sunday morning and many of them are quite peculiar.

That is Trafalgar Square, a big square full of pigeons. Nelson’s Column is in the centre of Trafalgar Square. It is 56 metres high and is a memorial to Admiral Nelson who died in the famous battle against Napoleon. Many people go to Trafalgar Square on 31st December to celebrate New Year’s Eve. The square is used for multicultural celebrations and meetings of all types such as Christmas,

This is Regent Street, near Piccadilly Circus. Here you can find Hamley’s, a fantastic toy shop! There are five floors in the shop and there’s also a Lego section and a bear factory where you can ask for and make your special personal teddy bear! In Regent Street you can also find Liberty, that is famous for its luxury fabrics department and Marks and Spencer, that is famous for clothes, furnishings and food.

Piccadilly Circus is another place in London where you can meet lots of people. Boys and girls meet there and sit on the steps around the statue of Eros. Here you can find the London Pavilion full of shops, restaurants and attractions. It is famous for its video display and neon signs. It is considered to be the “Hub of the world”.
