- According to Dr. Jameel Ahmad (2012) the Integration of media technology started in 1950s, a group of language schools began to use some devices as the phonograph, they also added movies and the tape recorder as tools in English language teaching
Why is important to integrate technology in my classroom?
- Later in '70s and '80s, some approaches to learn languages were developed, they brought the opportunity to use audio and video courses, and the use of video projectors and slide shows were new technology tools in classrooms. In the '90s, the Internet appeared with several resources for teachers.
- So as you can see is not as new as it seems.
- But let´s look at Mendez (2011) words :
- "Technology is a good opportunity “for engaging students in creating their own learning activities, experiences and environments, and not just be passive consumers of learning” .
- Natalia Maszkowska, (2017), thinks that with the arrival of internet and technology to education a new environment is done to help learning languages.
- Solanki (2012) “It’s proved that multimedia technology plays a positive role in promoting activities and initiatives of student and teaching effect in English class.
