When you are at Carnival in Germany, you will instantly notice all the nice, crazy or beautiful costumes. Everyone loves to dress up like a person, animal or creature that you like.

Some costumes

You can also get some sweets if you see a "Carnival procession".. If you scream: "Helau, Kamelle or Alaaf", the participants of the procession will throw some sweets to you. But, in every city, you say something different, not only "Helau", "Kamelle" or "Alaaf"

What is Carnival in Germany?

• Adults often drink beer.
• The most people love it! Alaaf!

• Carnival starts on November the 11th at 11 a.m.: 11.11 at 11 and lasts until February!
• It is great fun to wear costumes.
