• To achieve the XXIst Century Learning Skills:collaboration, knowledge building, ICT for learning, Real world problem solving, self-regulation and skill communication-To help our pupils understand the meaning of the words: “waste- management-depletion of natural resources- landfill-recycling”To raise awareness about waste reduction, product reuse and material recycling strategies-To promote the implementation of awareness-raising actions about sustainability in our schools, our towns, countries, Europe and in the world.

  1. To encourage our kids to spread their awareness to their families and other European citizens about the Urgent need of making our Europe/world sustainable
  2. To reinforce our kids competences by providing them with targeted communication tools.
  3. To assess the impact of communication actions on the behavior change regarding consumption and waste management patterns
  4. To highlight the work accomplished by the participants
  5. To encourage our pupils express their concerns and emotions in relation to the subject through art
  6. To let our students learn throughout a Project based learning, which will involve most of the school subjects and the same time will develop their key competences such as: Teamwork, collaboration, communication, social and critical thinking, creativity …
  7. To join International Campaigns so that our pupils get more engaged and feel part of European events.
  8. To enroll together the International project “ Climate Change Action”
  9. To organize an action from 18-26 November ’17 during the European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR)
  10. To take part on “Let’s Clean Europe” campaign in Spring 2018
  11. To integrate the project into the curricula of Sant Josep school as it is a “ Green School” and give advises and invite the partner school from Greece to become a Green school too.

REUSE : November-December

Although the idea is to start with R reduce, we changed the order because we want to join the European campaign of EWWR in November, and the topic in 2017 is “ Give it a New life”

1. Video about Reusing2. REUSE: WHAT? WHY? WHEN? WHERE? HOW? PADLETS: personal opinions and images ( both countries) Big mural at school like a mind map. 2.0 tool: Spicynodes /Poplet3. Creative reuse workshop : organize and action together to participate in the European Week of Waste Reduction from 18-26 November. Topic. GIVE IT A NEW LIFE. Pupils will work in transnational teams: each team will choose a product which is reusable, prepare it and write a descriptions: material, characteristics, benefits (one part of the group prepares the craft and the others the benefits using the postermywall tool) and create a game (learning Apps) for the other teams to play after reading these benefits. The score will be written once again in the forum and pupils will be awarded with medals/badges for their score) make a final ebook (bookcreator) with all the different products. 4. Competition: which is the most original reusable product? (forum)5. Advertisement: Launch an eco-design product (the winner one)6. Christmas: online workshop to make Christmas decorations with reused material

REDUCE: January- February

Research on waste management: where the garbage goes from our home, school, city. survey using a thread in the forum for pupils to suggest questions. Graphic of results4. Plastic War: Bury a plastic/ a paper/ an organic/ a tin in the school garden. Dig it after 2 months. Make conclusions. (3rd chat to share the conclusions) Campaign to avoid putting the organic inside plastic bags.5. Create an eco-2018 calendar. Every page of every month will have images and advices of how to become an Eco- citizen . Images, quotes, even a little poem. 12 transnational groups to prepare each month's calendar on different padlets . Transnational groups: three groups with pupils from the two countries will collaborate to write: 3 good habits for school(1st group,) 3 good habits for families (2nd group), 3 good habits for town-country (3rd group), 3 good habits for the whole Europe (4rth group). 12 good habits = 12 months of the calendar. RECYCLE: March - April

RECYCLING. WHAT? WHY? WHEN? WHERE? HOW? Interviews, surveys, European campaign, collaborative work

1. Video about Recycling2. RECYCLING. WHAT? WHY? WHEN? WHERE? HOW? (a survey distributed to pupils (for school) and interviews with parents (for families) Pupils will suggest the questions in the dedicated thread in the forum (an infographic to present the results). 3. Research what we do/ don’t do/ will do at school. Graphic and advices to become a “ Green school” Catalonia asks Greece what they do/ Greece answers and then Catalonia analyses and gives positive proposals. and the same Greece with -Catalonia. Google doc or another one. Present the proposals in a videoconference.4. Swappable market event: electronics, toys, books, clothes, decorative objects… Prepare a little gift (bookmark with a quote/message about sustainability Pupils will work in transnational groups to draw in different colorillo’s to make online bookmarks. Final video of the event5. Participate in the European Campaign “ Let’s clean up Europe” 6. Create a collaborative story using tips and words learnt after the research about 3 Rs. Present the final story as a puppet theatre to other schoolmates and parents7. Organise a final event to present the project to parents, teachers and schoolmates: The Reusable product, the calendar, the puppet story, the participation in the International Campaigns and projects
