How it works
Project X Comprehension Express ensures explicit modelling and supported practice of the 10 key comprehension strategies. The guidance report 'Improving Literacy in Key Stage Two' (Education Endowment Foundation, 2017) found extensive evidence to demonstrate the impact of teaching reading comprehension using the approach that Project X Comprehension Express adopts.

Comprehensive teaching guidance includes 30 ‘pick up and go’ lesson plans for each 10 week stage. These lesson plans include a script for the teacher, making it really easy to model the comprehension strategies in focus for children. Best practice films demonstrate how to teach the 10 comprehension strategies and prepare children for the national tests.
