Global Village

GLOBAL VILLAGE

The idea of a global village was developed by the Canadian Marshall McLuhan (1911-1980). This Canadian sociologist and philosopher played with two terms that seem contradictory (the village is somewhat local, small scale, while global refers to the entire world) to explain the consequences of mass media development

DEVELOPING THE IDEA

The Earth has become a kind of village of enormous dimensions as people, thanks to television, radio and other media, can always know what happens anywhere.

OUR SITUATION

THE PROBLEM

This global village modified the human being in its essence, since it altered from its way of communicating, social organization and contributed to the disappearance of physical distances to generate knowledge.

OBJECVTIVE

-> Don´t use the media excessively.
