GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION 19TH CENTURY The history of Egypt under the British lasts from 1882,when it was occupied by British forces during the Egyptian war until 1956 when the last British forces whithdrew following the Egyptian agreement of 1954 after the Suez Crisis. The first period of the British rule lasts from 1882 till 1914. This period was the veiled protectorate. During this time the Khevidate of Egypt built an autonomus city and the British forces didn’t have power in this city. This period lasts until de First World War when in November the 1914 the British declared a protectorate.

EGYPT IN UK There is a museum in London, the British museum with exhibitions with mummies, hieroglyphics and masks from the pharaons. At Richmond Avenue there are miniature sphinx and obelisks that take care of the villages. At the Crystal Palace Park six esphinxes are on the ground. in the 19th century the part of the Building fell down but the sphinxes didn’t. Cleopatra’s Needle is a token with 21 metres high built on a red granit stone. At the British museum there is a stone with hierogliphycs on it. Its name is Rosetta Stone.

EXTRA INFORMATION During the lagid dinasty appeared the hydraulic organ and the recorder. The most typical dancing is the belly dancing. Their typical foods are started with cold oriental dishes. Football is the most important sport in Egypt. Egypt is famous because there is a big river which crosses their lands:the Nile river. In the old Egypt, pharaons built a lot of phyramids and the Great Sphinx . The Great Sphinx was built by a pharaon with the mision to take care of his pyramid. A lot of tourists visit them in El Cairo.
