1. The past participle is a word formed from a verb. This word does not represent a tense; instead, it simply is a form of a verb. There are two mainly types of past participle forms: regular verbs and irregular verbs.
1. Regular verbs: the past participle may end with -d or -ed

Planned (one syllable verbs ending in one vowel + one consonant, duplicate the consonant and add 'ed').

Verbs ending in consonatn + 'y', change the 'y' to 'i' and add 'ed').
