TIME HARBOR: When we study History, time is one of the most important items that we have to take into account. The Modern Age is a historical period between the 15th and the 18th century, but why the historians made that division? Important events point the begining and the end of the historical periods, in this case, the siege of Constantinople or the Discovery of America were so important that, from these points the whole World's History changed forever. Now we will learn how to make a timeline with Tiki toki. we will use this tool to study the 3 units about the Modern Age, adding the different dates and events in order to have a complete timeline when we finish. Remeber that this activity is in group but that you have to create your own timeline.

  • The first event in our timeline will be the siege of Constantinople, do you remember when did it took place?
  • Which should be the last date and event?
Don't forget to take notes of everything into your notebook. Here you have a tutorial to learn how to use the tool: https://youtu.be/1UgiEhJ1xBE

KNOWLEDGE IS A TRESURE, BUT PRACTICE IS THE KEY OF IT. Here you will find the treasure that you need to arrive a good port in this adventure.

THE COLUMBUS HARBOR: The explorer Christopher Columbus made four trips across the Atlantic Ocean from Spain: in 1492, 1493, 1498 and 1502. He was determined to find a direct trade sea route west from Europe to Asia, but he never did. Instead, he accidentally stumbled upon the Americas. Though he did not really “discover” the New World, his journeys marked the beginning of centuries of trans-Atlantic conquest and colonization. In this harbour, you will work individually, watch the following video and answer the questions that will apperar in it, I highly recommend you to watch it at least 3 times: the first time just pay attention, the second take notes in your notebook and the third one answer the questions. https://edpuzzle.com/media/5870e5f9ec30463e1608493c EDpuzzle Video Lesson EDpuzzle video lesson.
