Covent Garden Covent Garden is a market in London. There were gift shops, restaurants and tea shops. It is an exalting cultural and commercial district.In front of Covent Garden, there are street performers. There is a theatre on «Drury Lane». There are also second-hand shops right behind the market hall. It used to be a fruit and vegetable market.

Hyde Park Hyde park is next to Kensington Garden. Hyde park is beautiful with its flowers. It was created in 1637. It is the biggest park in London. It is a public park. It's 1,24 mile long and 0,62 mile wide. Its area is 1.4 square kilometre. In Hyde park there is the Serpentine, which is a lake. In this park there were many music shows : Jethre (1961), The Rolling Stone (1969/2013), Pink Floyd (1970),Roy Houper (1971),Queen (1976) The cure (2002), Red Hot Chili Peppers (2004),Blur (2009) and Bruce Springsteen (2009)... The picture of The Beatles for one of their albums was taken in Hyde Park.

Green Park Green park is next to Picadilly Circus and St James's park. Green Park is located in Westminster. It is opposite St James's park. There is no lake in Green Park, neither a statue nor a fountain. It's one of London's eight royal parks . It was originally used to bury the lepers from St James's hospital. It was shut down by Henry VIII during the XVIth century. Charles II created this royal park in 1668. Its area is 42 acres. Claude Monet painted Green Park in 1871.

The Tower of London The Tower of London was a royal residence, a prison, and a petting zoo. There is also an Anglican church. It is the symbol of royalty. Inside, you can find the Crown Jewels , a few scepters with a dove, the royal ring with the English cross, many armors belonging to different Kings , Queen victoria's tiny crown and even coins! There are some famous towers such as the White Tower and the Bloody Tower. In the museum, there is a video about the coronation of Elizabeth II in 1953. Trafalgar SquareTrafalgar is a large square, central London. We could see and visit the National Gallery. The National Gallery is located on Trafalgar square. In this museum we could see many famous paintings. Some of them were painted by Joseph Mallord William Turner. We could see : Fishermen at sea ; Rain, Steam and Speed. There were many visitors. A few artists were entertaining the visitors. Inside the museum, there were nice patterns on the floor. Outside there were two fountains and there were lots of ducks. There was an impressive monument called Nelson's column. There were four statues of lions and a man riding a horse. We also walked by the Canadian Embassy.

St.James's Park We went to St-James' s park after seeing the changing of the Guard in front of Buckingham Palace. This park is located next to the Houses of Parliament in London and the park is 57 acres. It was etablished in 1603. It is one of London eight royal parks. There are 5,5 billion visitors a year. It is the oldest park in London.

BBC Studios The BBC was created in 1922 by John Reith who used this motto: "Nation Shall speak Peace Unto Nation" (« La nation parlera de la paix à la nation »). There are many TV and radio channels, The BBC studios are located in London. There are sixteen radio channels and ten BBC television channels. The wages are very high. The most popular TV show is "Doctor Who" which is a science-fiction television programme. It' s the most important broadcasting company in the world. 4A : Brice, Esteban, Guillaume.

Pub The Albert and restaurents There are many pubs, on the first day, we ate in one of them which was called The Albert. In London, there are restaurants with different nationalities. KOWALSKI Lena, MESEGUER Elsa, REILAND Emma.

Big Ben Big Ben is 96m tall. It indicates the exact time in England. Quentin.A, Abdou and Ronin.

Sainsbury's  There are supermarkets like Leclerc in France, called Sainsbury's.There is also Tesco, Waitrose and so many more... KOWALSKI Lena, MESEGUER Elsa, REILAND Emma.

The river Thames

BIG BEN Big Ben is a historic monument of London. When it was built, in 1856, it was called "the great bell", and we renamed it Big Ben, for its creator was called Benjamin Hall. It is the most famous clock in Europe, with its 96 meters high and its 335 steps. In June 2012, Big Ben was named after Queen Elizabeth to be called "the Elizabeth Tower". The clock has ring the first time in 1858.
